Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) partnered with Excelerate Energy to provide an innovative import solution that would supply the country with a secure source of natural gas as a supplement to its existing domestic natural gas production.

The Hadera Deepwater LNG Terminal, operated by Israel Natural Gas Lines (INGL), works in concert with production from Israel’s existing Tamar reservoir, ensuring uninterrupted natural gas supplies to market.

  • STL buoy system located over six miles offshore Israel
  • Capable of up to 600 MMcf/d delivery rate
  • Provides Israel with the ability to import LNG to Israel directly, augmenting Israel’s energy security
  • Using the terminal, the national transmission system can receive 2.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually, representing half of the country’s gas needs
