A balanced energy mix.
Our LNG solutions help create a secure and reliable energy system for countries that face unpredictable variables that could interrupt the continuous flow of power.
Complementing Renewable Energy.
Limited offshore gas transport infrastructure and weather-dependent hydropower require Brazil to import LNG to ensure a secure energy supply. In 2012, Petrobras contracted with us to build a more capable FSRU to keep up with projected demand. As a result, the FSRU Experience was ready in time to power the 2014 World Cup, supplying energy to over one million visitors in attendance and more than 3 million Brazilians filling the stadiums.
Diversifying energy supply.
In 2012, LNG via our FSRU increased Israel’s energy independence by replacing natural gas supply from Egypt, which had become unreliable. Since then, the terminal has provided additional security of supply for the energy sector instead of relying on one single source of gas. This allows Israel to take advantage of market pricing conditions and purchase additional LNG with surplus supplies going to industrial plants connected to the gas distribution network – with all benefiting from lower prices. The terminal also provides an added safeguard in the case of an unforeseen event.
Our experience developing and operating floating regas terminals is unmatched in the industry.
