Business FP&A Analyst

The Business Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst is a member of the Business Financial Planning & Analysis team with a liaison role with both the business units, Corporate FP&A, and accounting.  Responsibilities encompass end-to-end involvement in the financial cycle including planning and forecasting, system master data setup, coding, variance analysis, and reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following full-cycle accounting for areas including but not limited to:

  • Work hand in hand with Corporate FP&A team in preparation of the annual plan, quarterly forecast, and monthly reporting packages
  • Coordinate with business unit management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare an annual plan and quarterly forecast
  • Work with Project Managers to define and set up Project/WBS structures to align with desired cost tracking and reporting requirements
  • Ensure all project/cost center master data is created to allow downstream processes to function as designed
  • Work with the Procurement team to ensure purchases are being allocated to the correct cost object at the time of purchase order creation
  • Review and code invoices for designated areas of responsibility
  • Review project and cost center actuals for accuracy
  • Prepare and submit correcting entries as needed
  • Prepare and submit monthly accrual entries to ensure costs are accurately reflected for the period
  • Prepare variance analysis explanations for actuals vs. plan and forecast
  • Generate and distribute internal management reports for designated areas of responsibility
  • Analyze and prepare supplemental data summaries for inclusion in monthly, annual, and quarterly reporting packages
  • Identify and implement process improvement and efficiency opportunities to elevate the financial and accounting processes of the team
  • Support Treasury cash forecasting needs for cash-intensive activities
  • Provide data to the Tax department to facilitate annual tax planning and reporting
  • Participate in system implementation initiatives as identified
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Educational Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience or related experience
  • Previous experience with SAP required; Project Systems module preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Excel required
