Operations Intern

Job Summary:

The Intern shall provide support to Excelerate’s Operations team through monitoring and reporting the performance of the ships (owned and chartered fleet) and active regasification facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Monitor daily performance of the fleet at sea and in port by reading e-mails and attending department meetings
  • Update fleet statistics document, bunker reports, and ports of call metrics for internal tracking
  • Read, understand and file voyage documents within operations drives;
    • Time Charter Party excepts
    • Charterers instructions
    • Discharge/Load documents
    • Statement of Facts
  • Review and approve of vessel reports within IMOS/Veson program (noon/arrival/departure)
  • Communicate with owners, vessels crew, agents and internally with other departments
    • Ensure that supervisor is kept informed of all activities and communications

Qualifications & Educational Requirements: 

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated from an accredited College or University
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be resourceful, self-starter, able to multi-task, work quickly under pressure and able to prioritize work
  • Able to work in a dynamic, ever-changing environment, while adapting to change and maintaining flexibility

Desirable Criteria & Qualifications

  • Attendance at a Maritime College or University
  • Knowledge of cargo containment systems, cargo handling equipment, and vessel technical systems and operations as related to handling of LNG
